Children’s Church

Childrens Church

Children’s Church is a Sunday school offered at All Saints, and also at the daughter church of the parish, St Raphael’s.  Due to the different set up of the two church buildings, Children’s Church runs differently in each of them. In both locations, children start in the church with the congregation. This is so that we help children grow to be comfortable in church, and to feel part of the church community.  At a certain point early in the service, the children will be invited to accompany our Children’s Church leader(s) to join the ‘Children’s Church’.

At St Raphael’s, Fern Tree, we provide a children’s corner at the back of the church, where children participate in prepared, guided activities, such as creative worksheets and craft, which centre around a Christian story or theme.

At All Saints, South Hobart, children will be taken to our Eagle Centre, where there will be activities such as stories, songs, craft, and games, all built on teaching children about Christianity, and helping them recognise the value of the spiritual life from a young age. (Parents are welcome to accompany their children in the Eagle Centre, and are requested to accompany children 4 or younger).

At both St Raphael’s and All Saints, the children will rejoin the congregation in time for communion, so as to finish the service as one community.

If you would like your child to attend Children’s Church, just bring them along to the main service at All Saints at 10:15am or St Raphael’s at 8:45am on Sundays. (If for any reason the youth minister is away, activities will be provided in the children’s areas at both churches).
